Nurturers of Sustainable Drinks Brands

Axiom is dedicated to building brands for the future. The only way to achieve that is to protect the future of the planet. Sustainable production and consumerism is the way to ensure the long-term wellbeing of the environment and communities where drinks are produced, as well as the stability and success of the producers.

All the brands we work with are making significant strides in sustainability – and it shows in the quality of their drinks...

Mezcal Amarás

The first carbon-neutral mezcal brand in the world, driven by its ‘Seed to Sip’ philosophy which always seeks to care for the entire cycle; the land, the environment and the people who make every drop of mezcal. Up to 20% of each bottle’s net profit goes to local social and environmental sustainability initiatives, touching 2,500 lives directly and countless more overall. These programmes include reforestation (10 agaves planted for every one harvested) and agave nursery initiatives that have promoted the rescue of 11 agave species and 21 subspecies, whilst also providing advanced education for local distillers.

The Glenturret

Glenturret is proud to be Walpole’s Luxury Sustainability Brand of the Year. All water is sourced from the Loch Turret and in 2022, significant upgrades to production allowed for a 28% water use reduction, equivalent to 1million litres saved a year.

Barrell Craft Spirits

Barrell proudly supports The Ocean Foundation, donating a proportion of bottle sales to the non-profit organization. This charity helps reverse the trend of ocean destruction and educates the public on the importance of Marine conservation.

Tierra Noble Tequila

Tierra Noble is recognised for its sustainable packaging - recycled glass bottles; 100% recyclable, compostable and biodegradable internal fittings; and a honeycomb paper wrap to reduce plastic use. Tierra Noble maintains heritage techniques to preserve the culture and tradition of tequila-making in Jalisco.

Wanderlust Spirits

The distillery in Reykjavik, Iceland, is powered entirely by renewable energy from hydro and geothermal sources, providing 100% emission-free electricity. Wanderlust Spirits’ packaging is designed for secondary use as display cards and coasters; to reduce glass waste 5L eco-bags are also available.

AKER English Aperitif

All the ingredients used to create AKER are sourced from within the UK, minimising the carbon footprint and supporting local growers. The fresh wines which form the base of AKER are from its partner, Chapel Down, a founding member of the Wine GB Sustainable Wines of Great Britain scheme. The fruit distillates made at Cotswolds-based Capreolus distillery are made from handpicked fruit from producers local to the distillery.

Procera Gin

All the African juniper (‘juniperus procera’) berries used in Procera are grown within a 44-mile area from the distillery. In this area of the Kenyan Highlands, a re-forestation initiative takes place to re-plant a Procera tree per bottle sold and their glass bottles are made from recycled glass. Procera has a Zero Waste Distillation process to conserve local water used when filling each 100% recycled glass bottle.

Tequila Casa Dragones

The diffusion production technique used to make Casa Dragones is recognised by the Tequila Regulatory Council as the most efficient and sustainable in the industry to date. It uses less water, less energy, produces less waste and uses less agaves per litre than other methods.

Amàrico

Committed to environmentally sustainable sourcing, production and packaging, Amàrico uses 100% recyclable glass bottles, synthetic corks with 100% recyclable materials and FSC-certified labels. The fresh peaches and grapefruits that make the base for their aperitifs are all locally grown in Italy.

Ron Abuelo

The sugar cane used for the family-owned rum is from their own sugar cane haçienda - as locally sourced as it gets. All Ron Abuelo cane is hand harvested to reduce carbon emissions, and the leftover bagasse and cane shoots are then collected and used as a fuel source in the production process.

Jack Rudy Cocktail Co.

All the ingredients for Jack Rudy Cocktail products are all-natural and, where possible, locally sourced. All cardboard used is 100% recycled and honeycomb paper wrap protects packages to reduce plastic use.

Mondino

Mondino’s ingredients are organically cultivated and, where possible, regionally sourced. Organic bitter oranges are sourced from sustainable producers on the Amalfi coast and freshly macerated in situ. These selected ingredients are blended with local Bavarian spring water to make this full-bodied Amaro.
