Mezcal Amarás is an artisanal spirit, batch-produced using traditional, sustainable techniques.

For each Mezcal Amarás batch, the team selects the most interesting terroir, the ideal varietal of agave and the most skilled master distiller to work with. However, all Mezcal Amarás expressions have a philosophy in common - 100% natural and sustainable processes, including milling with a tahona stone turned by a mule, and natural fermentation in open wooden vats.

The brand dedicates 20% of its net profits to ecological and social sustainability programmes. They also replant 10 agaves for every plant they harvest, as well as establishing a nursery to propagate heritage agave varietals and maintain biodiversity. Mezcal Amarás - a project made with love.

Core Range

Amarás is an honest brand born from their special bond with the sun, the land, and people who work it. It collaborates with Maestros Mezcaleros from Oaxaca and Guerrero to create the core portfolio using agave Espadín and Cupreata, honouring centuries of heritage and preserving 500 years of artisanal crafting. Each bottle of Mezcal Amarás is crafted using sustainable and natural methods, conscious of the direct correlation we have with nature.

Mezcal Amarás Espadín: It is the steward of our pursuit of a better world, the flag bearer for our holistic cycle "From seed to sip". Naturally handcrafted using the finest 8-year-old agave Espadín found in the mountains of Oaxaca, Amarás Espadín invites you into a world of smoothness.

Mezcal Amarás Espadín Reposado: Handcrafted using the same fine agave Espadín, only this time, it's matured in our barrels carved from 2 different types of Oak for a minimum of 3 months to create their synonymous smooth and mellow notes.

Mezcal Amarás Americana: In line with their philosophy of nurturing wild agaves, 10 years ago Amarás planted the giants of the agave world, Americana, to produce this mezcal with 100% ownership. Silky smooth with hints of roasted banana and almonds.

Mezcal Amarás Cupreata: A gateway into the richness of flavours and aromas that the biodiversity of agaves can offer, Amarás Cupreata brings to life unusual herbaceous notes that take you on an excursion into the forests of Guerrero.

Logia

Mystical and enigmatic, Mezcal Amarás Logia is an ode to the unattainable, the select and the scarce, perfectly defining the agaves and their importance as a sacred plant.

It is a tribute to mezcal in each solar cycle, presented in ultra-limited and unrepeatable batches that capture the knowledge of a centuries-old heritage and tradition with a clear intention: to protect the agave and its culture. To do so, Amarás created a reforestation program that embodies their commitment to maintaining the biodiversity of all wild agaves in mezcal-producing regions.

Mezcal Verde

Despite its ultra-modern looks, this eye-catching mezcal is produced with the utmost artisanal care and traditional methods. Mezcal Verde dedicated craft distillery opened in the Oaxacan village of Tlacolula in 2017 and is capable of producing 7,000l of batch-distilled mezcal a year.

Mezcal Verde is made from 8-year-old grown Espadin agave. It is cooked using three different types of wood - ocote, red oak and pepper tree - to achieve a complex, balanced flavour profile that makes it work brilliantly in cocktails.

After Tahona stone milling, natural fermentation with its own yeast in ayacahuite pine vats and double distillation in maestro mezcalero Doroteo Garcia's small copper still, it is bottled at 42% ABV.

Every batch of Mezcal Verde features a unique label designed by a contemporary Mexican artist. It is another collaboration aimed at supporting the local culture of the mezcal-producing regions - be it farmers, distillers or artists. And it captures the essence of any good drink - enjoy the moment and have fun together.
